Two children from each of the 12 states come together to fight to the death, to win the Hunger Games. In Faction 12, Primrose Everdeen gets called, until her older sister Katniss bravely volunteers in her place. Together with her fellow tribute, Peta, they travel to the capitol to enter the Games.

 In the arena, Katniss is put through many trials, and befriends other tributes. Armed with her bow and arrows, what else can she do, other than fight?

 The first novel in the Hunger Games trilogy is a high intensity, emotional book that makes you think in a different perspective. In 2012 The Hunger Games was adapted into a blockbuster film.
